Jerry J. Sicks, 75, Overbrook, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at a Topeka hospice house. He was born Nov. 23, 1927, near Hindsville in Madison County, Ark., to Wilbur A.A. and Iva P. Anderson Sicks. He had lived in the Overbrook community for many years. He was an electrician and worked out of Local No. 226 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers before he retired in 1977. He was a member of Anderson-Raible Post No. 239 of the American Legion in Overbrook and Local No. 226 of Electrical Workers. He married Wilma P. Austin on Feb. 22, 1947, in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Jerry D. Sicks, Gardner; three daughters, Linda L. Douglass, Overbrook, Kathy S. Niehoff, Ottawa, and Marcia L. Morgan, Topeka; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Funeral Home in Topeka. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka. Mr. Sicks will lie in state after noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
