Member of the Knights and Ladies of Security, Topeka, KS chapter. The image is of him in his security uniform. The organization was began in 1901 as an off shoot of the St. Louis, MO chapter and began with 40 members. The name was changed to The Security Benefit Association in 1920 and was officially disbanded in 1949. The members paid into an insurance fund in which premium payments would be received by the family upon the members death.

Obituary notes for William Henry Anderson
Funeral of William H. Anderson. Funeral services for William H Anderson, aged 57, who died Wednesday afternoon in the state hospital at Topeka, will be held Saturday afternoon at 22:30 o’clock from the Christian church, conducted by the Rev. J. H. O. Smith.
Mr. Anderson was born in Piatt county, Ill. Jan 1, 1864. When a small boy he settled with his parents on a farm near Medoc, Mo., At the age of 21 he came to Pittsburg, where he lived until a couple years ago when he was stricken with illness and taken to the hospital at Topeka. When Mr. Anderson came to Pittsburg in 1885, he formed a partnership with W. J. Ralph in the grocery business in a building which stood where the Commerce building is now located. He laster entered the transfer business with Silas Carr. In 1897 he entered the transfer business with G. L. and D. H. Sterling. During the time of this partnership he purchased the wholesale grocery stock of the Ryley-Wilson company, which he managed until he became ill. Mr. Anderson was a member of the Pittsburg lodge of the Knights of Pythias, U. R. K. P., No. 198, F. A. U. No. 428, and the United Commercial Travelers.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Anderson, 107 West Euclid avenue, four children, Fred Anderson, 104 East Madison, Pittsburg; Mrs. Lorin Bodelle, 709 West First street, this city; Mrs. Iva Rochester, Arkansas City, Kas.; and Clyde Anderson, who lives at home; also one brother, Elmer Anderson, 812 West Fourth street; one nice, Gertie Uhles, 307 East Quincy; one nephew, Walter Ralph, Carlsbad, N. M.; and two grandchildren, William Rochester and Rowena Anderson. The Pittsburg Sun, 17 June 1921, Fri., pg. 2.
William H. Anderson Dead. End Came to Pittsburg Man at Topeka Last Night. William H. Anderson of Pittsburg died in a hospital at Topeka last night. He was about 57 years old. Mr. Anderson was a prominent citizen of Pittsburg for many years. For a long period he was in charge of the branch house of the Ryley-Wilson grocery company in this city. Three years ago illness forced his retirement. The widow and four children survive Mr. Anderson. Mrs. Anderson has been visiting in Oklahoma City and is on the way here today with the youngest son, Clyde. Fred Anderson, another son, lives here. Two daughters Mrs. Loren Bodell of Pittsburg and Mrs. Iva Rochester of Arkansas City, also survives. Funeral arrangements had not been made today.
