The Home Light Heat & Power Company was the predecessor to Kansas Gas & Electric (KGE) in supplying Pittsburg with its electrical and natural gas needs. Its offices were at 512 N. Broadway

"This company has been an important factor in the up-building of Pittsburg. Much credit should be given to the citizens and business men of this concern, who so ably prepared for the future and kept pace with the times, as is amply shown by the plant and equipment in use today. The power house is furnished with the latest and best machinery that can be purchased and represents a value of $150,000.00. The electircal capacity of this plant is 250 horse-power with an additional boiler capacity of 2500. Over 40 miles of gas mains owned by this company give service at such rates that it is used by a large majority of industries here." - Prosperous Pittsburg Pictorially Portrayed, publishers: Pittsburg Publicity Company, 1915
